How Couldn't He?

I read several stories yesterday criticizing Obama's choice of Joe Biden as V.P. They said that his choice reveals that he's not the big change agent he claims to be, and that it shows his lack of confidence in his abilities.

So picking the most knowledgeable and experienced democrat on foreign policy and other issues was a bad thing? Really? Don't we want a president who surrounds himself with the best and the brightest? And don't we want a president who will hire people who will challenge and disagree with him? Selecting Biden proves Obama will do both of these things. To boot, Joe Biden has a working-class background and has never been involved in sexual or financial scandals. He still takes the train to work, for crying out loud. Saying Biden doesn't represent change, because he doesn't lack experience or because he isn't a woman or minority is non-sense. Having character and integrity, in Washington, represents plenty of change.

Obama made a great choice.

I agree, I think Obama made a great choice too. Especially if you want McCain to be elected! (Which I don't...)

UGH! I wish I could wake up in 2012, cuz this year just makes me nervous on so many levels...

BTW, I got tickets to go see McCain on Friday... He is announcing his pick here in Dayton. Wanna bet it's Liberman? I hope not! But there are only a handfull of names out there that will get my vote... So I am on record: I am voting for the best VP this year... If there is a best.

so does this mean you're rooting for obama now? :)

but seriously, why do you think this, politically, was a bad choice? to me, the other choices just gave obama a state and supposedly signified that obama's bringing "real change," whatever that means. the choice of biden shows that, once again to me, that obama is out to make wise choices, and not be radical for the sake of being radical.

I am actually rooting against McCain. But I will probably vote for him. It is a sick, sick place to be.

Honestly, I hope Obama wins and there are no vacancies in the Supreme Court over the next 4 years. That would be ideal. Because I think the re-emergence of conservatives as leaders of the Republican party will happen only with a liberal like Obama at the helm. If McCain wins, it will destroy the conservative voice in the GOP for the next 20 years.

But understanding Obama's positions, I just can't sit by...

We are up a creek this year either way.

I just realized I didn't answer your question.

It was a worthless choice because: a) Biden is is jerk. (The democrats version of Cheney)
b) Biden got what? 3% of the vote? So he is not bringing popularity to the table.
c) Biden is Washington DC. Obama is trying to spin him as someone who goes to washington but is not of Washington. But Biden has been serving in the Senate since McCain was in a prison in Hanoi. And I am supposed to believe that he is part of the solution? Is the the cause, not the answer, to the problems we have.

So thats my answer....

man heath, you're such a downer.

-uh, ok. how? cause he's kind of a hard ass? i don't think that's necessarily bad, especially in politics. cheney is cold and secretive. i don't see how the two compare.

b) Biden got what? 3% of the vote? So he is not bringing popularity to the table.
-i don't think obama needs to worry about popularity.

c) Biden is Washington DC. Obama is trying to spin him as someone who goes to washington but is not of Washington. But Biden has been serving in the Senate since McCain was in a prison in Hanoi. And I am supposed to believe that he is part of the solution? Is the the cause, not the answer, to the
problems we have.
-but obama hasn't (been in washington long). and obama needs someone who has experience, especially with foreign policy. and once again, biden isn't seen as this scandalous, corrupt politician. he comes off as honest and authentic. it will be interesting to see how obama does in the debates with biden coaching him on foreign policy.

you're argument against obama seems to be liberal=baaaaaad. have you been to his site and actually looked at some of what he wants to do? what's so bad about tax cuts for the middle class and seniors? what's bad about taxing companies that outsource? just wondering.

it's gonna be alright, i promise.

lol... you nailed it with the liberal=baaaaad.

Ya, I have been to Obama's site and read his platforms... That is what scares me about him so much.

You and I are from diffrent planets... Its ok. We just are. Income tax cuts are great. In fact, I am all for cutting them to 0.

But since I am against government Healthcare, abortion, and pulling out of Iraq, and in favor of the Fair Tax, school vouchers, and drilling everywhere we can, Obama doesn't have much to offer me.

Heath Countryman said...

Oh, and I already know that McCain is for government healthcare, questionable on abortion, hasn't endorsed the fait tax or school vouchers... And his policies on campaign finance are dispicable... so thats why I find myself in no-man's land. He does want to secure Iraq and is for drilling, so that is a start...
